Production Designer Kyle Kinsella brought us on to fabricate two ambitious forced-perspective sets that paired puppetry with the legendary Henry Winkler. The first environment was a suburban neighborhood crosswalk, built as a hybrid of dimensional elements and printed flats. Layered houses, garages, lawns, and cars were carefully scaled to shrink as they receded, giving the camera a playful yet convincing illusion of depth.

The second set transported us to a stadium track, where the star was a massive tortoise puppet requiring three operators to bring it to life. To sell the perspective, every element—from track lanes to stadium seating—was fabricated with precise alignment to the locked camera angle. Once the vanishing point and horizon line were established, the builds became a meticulous exercise in geometry and craftsmanship, ensuring the illusion held perfectly in frame.

The turnaround was tight: just a week in the shop for fabrication, followed by a couple of days on stage for installation and adjustments. Despite the schedule, the result was two fully realized environments that felt whimsical, cinematic, and completely seamless on camera.
