For a series of spots helmed by the visionary Michel Gondry, Christian Zollenkopf brought us in to fabricate two immersive apartment sets that blended practicality with cinematic flair. The first, a soaring New York–style loft, featured 14-foot-high walls and a meticulously crafted birch-paneled staircase that concealed hidden storage—a perfect marriage of design ingenuity and functional storytelling. The second was an intimate one-bedroom apartment designed for a memorable on-camera moment: a compact car was seamlessly integrated into the set, allowing talent to move effortlessly from assembling a crib to climbing into the driver’s seat.
Beyond the interiors, we engineered and built a striking 28-foot-long architectural feature, fabricated in our Los Angeles workshop and installed on location at a storefront, creating a bold, unforgettable visual statement. Every element was realized with meticulous attention to detail, precision engineering, and a touch of Gondry’s signature whimsy, ensuring the sets were as dynamic, inventive, and cinematic as the director’s vision itself.
